2014_12_29 Single

With all that the world throws at you each and every day it can often seem that living a surrendered life as a single woman is an impossible thing to do, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. It does, however, require a serious purging of the falsehoods that have been forcefully fed to you daily for so long. It requires finding out what the Word has to say about these situations and choosing to believe that Word more than you believe what the world says. It requires that you step out on faith when He asks you to so that He can do the work He needs to do to bring about His Will for your life.

Our stress and defeat, bitterness and strife, comes as a result of trying to carry weights that we weren’t created to carry, sustain tasks we were created to only be a support in. We do these things for so long with that ever pounding sermon in our ears that we have to do this as the head-of-household to provide for our families, to pay the bills, and keep a roof over our heads. After a while we begin to believe that our source is in the earth and that if there is no man to provide that source then we have to do it ourselves. Next thing you know that lie has wrapped itself so tightly into our existence that we forget how to let go.

But that is not the state we were created to live in. We were created from a covered place {the rib of man} to be a helpmeet to the O/one who covers us. 1 Corinthians 11:3 says, “Now I want you to realize that the Head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the Head of Christ is God.” So the hierarchy in terms of covering going from the bottom to the top is…woman, man, HaMashiach {Christ}, Elohim {God}. Achoti {my sister}, no matter what situation you find yourself in or how you got there, YOU ARE STILL A WOMAN! In other words, the hierarchy has not changed…it may be missing a piece…but it hasn’t changed. So regardless of what your father, the father{s} of your children, or any other man is willing or unwilling to do, you are still covered by HIM! HE IS YOUR SOURCE!

So I challenge you today, to stop looking for a man to cover you. When Elohim has prepared one worthy of all He placed in you then He will show that man how to find you {Proverbs 18:22}. And stop considering yourself to be the head-of-household. Despite what your tax form says, your head-of-household is Elohim through Yeshua HaMashiach {Jesus Christ}! I’m not saying go quit your job or anything else today. I’m saying take that pill of faith daily and let it build in you so that you daily begin to shift your focus away from what the world says is required of you and toward what the Father says is required of you. In the days of old, a girls remained in her father’s house until she was married and if something happened that that marriage was no more then she returned to her father’s house. She was never uncovered and neither are you. No matter what has happened, return to your Father’s House and let Him cover you.

Search out in the Word the roles, duties, and responsibilities that He laid out for a woman and begin to implement them into your life in any way you can. Like anything else it is a process and in Yeshua there is no condemnation {Romans 8:1}, so be gentle with yourself and grow at a pace you can sustain. But most importantly, tell Him that you are ready to be covered by HIM alone. Invite Him into the process and let Him guide you in all His truths {John 16:13}. Reconnect with the way the Word defines femininity, womanhood, and sisterhood. You will be pleasantly surprised at how willing and ready He is to take over and carry you forth. Psalm 68: 5,6 says, “A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families, He leads forth the prisoner with singing…” The word used for “widows” in that verse comes from a root word that means discarded or forsaken; In other words…left uncovered. So shed off those heavy weights the world has layered on you and clothe yourself in His truth, embracing and surrendering to all He created you to be.

Be encouraged beloved! There is hope and strength to be found on this journey and rest to be found in being covered by HIM alone {Psalm 62:1}. I pray you enlightened hearts and open minds! Shalom!~

Surrendered to Him~
