“…Then the Lord shut him in.” {Genesis 7:16}

Elohim knows when danger is on its way and it is His Will that His children are protected. Many times, however we have a role to perform in our protection. This account of the flood states that “Noah did everything just as God commanded him.”{Genesis 6:22} Not part of the way, not in his own style, not when he got around to it, but he got up right then and there and did everything just as Elohim commanded Him! Then again in Genesis 7:5 it says, “And Noah did all that the Lord commanded him.” {emphasis added}He did every single thing he was told to do, how he was told to do it, when he was told to do it.

It goes on to say that “Pairs of clean and unclean animals, of birds and of all creatures that move along the ground, male and female, came to Noah and entered the ark, as God had commanded Noah.”{Genesis 7:8,9 emphasis added}Noah didn’t have to go round up all the animals and herd them into the ark. They came to him, already in their pairs, and walked right on in! See when we are in obedience, Elohim will even help us comply with His own commands! But is all starts with obedience!

Don’t get me wrong. There are always going to be some storms we have to face or some lesson we have to learn. But even in those times He still gives us refuge {Isaiah 4:2-6} and a way out {1 Corinthians 10:13} if we are focused on Him and His Will. But when those storms come that are not ours to face, He will tell us how to build the ark we need to ride out the storm. Be it extra money in a savings account, accumulating vacation days, doing deep study on a topic in the Word, memorizing particular scriptures, exercising our bodies and fortifying them with good nutrition, or any other command He has called into our lives…He is having us build that ark of protection so that He can shut us in, safe from the storm!

However, if we don’t do our part with obedience to all His commands regarding the building of the ark then we leave nowhere for Him to shut us into! Granted we are still His children and He still loves and protects us, be we are left exposed to the storm in ways He never wanted us to be. We suffer unnecessarily and bear extra burdens, all because we didn’t do everything just as He commanded!

I am so grateful to Him for teaching me how to build the arks I need to safely ride out the storms of life. I thank Him for all the ways He makes it easier for me to carry out His commands. And I praise Him for protecting me and being my refuge and strength even when my disobedience left me out in the storm!

May we all learn from Noah, who like Enoch walked with Elohim {Genesis 5:24, 6:9}, about the importance of following Elohim’s Plan exactly as He commands. He gives it for our protection because He loves us so completely. Baruch HaShem! I am certainly glad He does! Be blessed beloved! Shalom!~

Surrendered to Him~
