2014_09_22 Our Image22

I once heard a preacher ask, “Does anyone in your life know you are a Christian?” At first I thought, “What an odd question to ask a church full of people!” The longer at sat there with that question sinking in though, the more relevant it seemed. The term Christian implies that you are His follower, His disciple. His blood covers you. You bear His Mark, His Name, upon your spirit. Bearing the Name of Christ, HaMashiach, should mean that you look like Him in who you are and how you live your life.

The Word says that in the beginning Elohim said, “Let us make man in Our image, in Our likeness…” {Genesis 1:26} Then man fell and had to leave the garden. Each day after that man lost more and more of the connection between himself and the Image in which he was created in. Spiritual muscles atrophied to a point that the people couldn’t hear the Voice of God crying out from within to change their ways. It grew to a point where Elohim spoke of His people “…they do not even know how to blush.” {Jeremiah 6:15}

But Yeshua came to bring restoration back to that original state and to extend that restoration to all the nations. He redeemed us all and bore each and every sin on the cross! In His prayer for all believers Yeshua says, “I in them and You in Me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that You have sent Me and have loved them even as you have loved Me.” {John 17: 20-26 emphasis added} Through Him we have that complete unity with the Image in which we were created!

That question from the preacher, in essence, asks: Does anybody see a reflection of Yeshua when look at you? Can they tell you from the non-believer by anything other than the fact you go to church? Do they see Him in your everyday life, how you speak, respond, and act in general? Do you speak forth His Word from your mouth or are you saying the same things the world says? Does the Fire and Passion He brought to the earth burn bright within you for all to see? Does your life attract the lost like moths to a flame seeking warmth and refuge?

It is written that, “Blessed are they who maintain justice, who constantly do what is right.” {Psalm 106:3 emphasis added} That type of consistency requires seeking His Face for any and every thing that exists in or comes through your life. It requires an ever deepening surrender of mind, body, and spirit. It requires an authentic passion and drive, a solid foundation of commitment and desire to always do his Will. That is my prayer forever more…to live authentically in consistent surrender to His Will, constantly doing what is right so that all who look at me see His Image and desire to be closer to Him. May all glory and honor abound to His Kingdom!

Be blessed beloved!~

Surrendered to Him~
