2014_02_23 Process

“He also said, ‘This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. All by itself the soil produces grain–first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.’ ”

{Mark 4:26-29 NIV84}

I’m not taking on an action plan this week. Instead I’m using this week as a reminder that growth is a process. I believe that every journey should pause occasionally for an evaluation/reflection period. The more intensive and passionate the journey, the more often this should take place. It helps to keep the traveler from getting so engrossed in the steps that they disregard, or maybe even derail, the purpose of the journey.

In the above parable Jesus lists the stages of growth a seed goes through when planted in the soil. The same is true when a seed is planted in the children of God as when a seed is planted in the soil. The difference for many of us is that, while we may know the general family the seed is a part of, we don’t know for sure what specific seed was planted. Therefore, we don’t know the growth stages ahead of time to gauge the rate and quality of growth.

That is why it is so important to stay connected with our role as the soil and thus surrendered the process. This involves staying aerated and open to the care and instruction of the Sower. In addition, focus on maintaining a nutritious atmosphere that facilitates growth in the Sower’s Seed is paramount. Most importantly, however, is being careful not to begin neglecting our role and planting seeds of our own, because they could potentially grow up and choke out the Sower’s Seed.

So for this week I will be reviewing the previous steps with the Father to ensure that I am still aligned with His Will for my life. I have already noticed so steps that require some extra attention and places where I had fallen away farther than I thought. It just makes me feel so grateful that He takes the time to place these things on my heart so that I can continue to grow in the things of his Kingdom, even down to everyday details! I pray you all have a wonderful week and if you get any steps of your own this week, I would be thrilled to hear about them! Be blessed beloved!~
