2014_10_27 Coffee

Over the years I have learned many uses for coffee beside its ability to fuel my motor. I know it has benefits to the digestive system and makes for a very effective colonic recipe. I’ve even learned some of the great ways it can be used around the house in cleaning and deodorizing. This is my first exploration with it in beauty recipes though.

It’s been a trying couple of weeks for me so I went in search of something new to give me a feminine boost. I am long overdue for a manicure and pedicure so I figured I’d start there. I wanted a manicure and pedicure soak that would moisturize, detox, and revitalize. In my search, I ran across some recipes with coffee grounds and decided to give it a try.

I am so glad I did! It was truly the most invigorating and revitalizing soak I have ever done. I didn’t get real fancy with it this time, but I will definitely be experimenting with different recipes in the future. I simply put some used coffee grounds and 2 cups of warm milk in my foot tub and filled it the rest of the way with warm water. I also used some of the mixture in my manicure bowl.

The best description I can give of the result is impeccably clean! There was a fresh, deep clean that I’ve never felt in a pedicure before. Needless to say, I am thoroughly impressed! Milk has always been a favorite of mine for moisturizing, but with the coffee it seemed to almost attack the dead skin making it so easy to remove. This is going to be a great addition to my beauty regime come sandal season!
